What Aloin Is Good for?

"Is aloin toxic" is discussed in detail in this section. Still, there is no doubt that aloin contains some very powerful anti-inflammatory and skin nutritional ingredients, and so far no toxicity has been reported when it is used topically!

Yes, there are those who may be sensitive to it, but this sensitivity can be detected easily by following the instructions below [REF] (or some more “relaxed” version of that procedure):

  • Apply the product to a test spot twice daily for seven to 10 days. Choose a quarter-sized spot on your skin where the product won’t be rubbed or washed away, such as the underside of your arm or the bend of your elbow. Use the normal amount and thickness you would use as if you were applying the product regularly.

  • Leave the product on your skin for as long as you would normally. If you’re testing something that you would usually wash off, like a cleanser, keep it on your skin for five minutes or as long as the instructions say.

  • If after seven to 10 days you don’t have a skin reaction, such as red, itchy, or swollen skin, go ahead and use the product.

Assuming that no sensitivity is observed, the aloin scraped with the gel from the inner side of a fresh aloe leaf’s skin could be applied to recover (and improve) hair growth (video min 4:22), face masks  (Video min 3:12, Video min 7:34) and many other applications. So why throw away the leaf’s peeled skin after extracting the gel for your daily smoothie as so many “experts” demonstrate (video min 5:41) in their videos?

What is the Best Aloe Vera Drink?

There are many Aloe Vera Beverages to choose from. Here we discuss some of the differences starting with the aloe “product” used and continue with the additives that may be used, to help you make the choice of what’s best for you!

The prime/best aloe product to to construct your drink with is the inner leaf gel which is made right from the plant. It is not filtered, pasteurized, nor preserved. It does not have anything added. It does not contain thickeners or ingredients to change the texture, taste, color, or smell. Beware of drinks that contain thickeners such as carrageenan in them. Thickeners are added to make the drink appears more like true aloe vera gel. Real aloe vera gel does not need thickeners.

If you have an aloe vera plant you can make your own aloe vera gel to drink. It is easy to make as we demonstrate in the next blog below.

There are two additional categories of aloe products sold through various marketing channels:

  • “Whole leaf aloe vera” gel/drink, for its laxative effect. Using this product does not allow the ingestion volume that you may desire if you were trying to heal inflammatory bowel or strengthen your immune system against significant illness.

  • “Inner leaf aloe vera” products that were either processed in a way to minimise contamination from the outer leaf or they had the outer leaf “aloin” filtered out using processing agents such as activated carbon and diatomaceous earth. Of course, this processing significantly removes inner leaf nutrients as we present in this section

Some brands make both inner leaf gel AND whole leaf. Read the label to avoid getting the whole leaf by mistake when you only intended to get inner leaf gel. Consuming too much whole leaf aloe vera will send you to the facilities.

Some aloe vera drinks have the aloe ingredient added as powder and listed in milligrams such as “300 mg. aloe vera”. These aren’t actually aloe vera drinks but instead juices that have a measured amount of aloe vera powder in them. It does not require a scientific study to learn not to expect a significant health benefit as you might with real aloe vera drinks.

Back to the question of “Best Aloe Drink”, to gain the most out of its beneficial ingredients, it has to start with a freshly extracted gel. Real aloe vera inner leaf gel has only a mild bitterness and some claim that they detect a slight garlic and onion taste. All that you have to do to make it enjoyable, is to add coconut milk (marginal carbohydrates), some lemon juice and monk powder as a sweetener.

Try this recipe (also good for Keto diet), and you will never look back (all ingredients should be organic)

Put in your blender (most recommended to use only organic ingredients):

  • 14 oz (400 grams) fillet pieces from the gel rich frozen aloe vera leaves (after skin peeling),,

  • 14 oz (400 grams) coconut milk

  • The pulp from half a lemon (scraped with a grapefruit spoon),

  • 1-2 tablespoons of raw honey,

  • 6 teaspoons of Monk Powder (use water to dissolved the powder at a ratio of 1 monk :2 water - boil the water and stir, let it simmer for about 15 min).

Turn the blender on for a short blending action (preferably slow blending to avoid oxidation), taste the blend, if you still feel some bitterness, add some raw honey to neutralize it.

Enjoy the drink and refrigerate whatever that is left.

Revolutionary Quick and Efficient Gel Extraction From The Aloe Leaf

Many consider the aloe gel extraction, a messy and tedious undertaking. In this section (video min 5:43 - 5:50) we demonstrate how this extraction method makes the job quick, and with very little waste.
